This week I am spending most of my time on the Abu Dhabi campus of Al Ain University. I have had a series of meetings with campus leaders, including a very delightful discussion with Dr. Noor Aldeen Atatreh, the Chancellor, and Prof Abdelhafid Belarbi, the Vice President for the Abu Dhabi campus. Both Dr. Noor and Prof Abdelhafid are extremely supportive of the project’s goals.
Most of my time has been with Dr. Faten F. Kharbat, the Head of Management & MIS Department. I first met Faten at KM Middle East 2015 and based on a conversation there, this entire Fulbright project grew. She has been incredibly helpful throughout the process and an absolute joy to work with.
I thought I would share a bit about the Abu Dhabi campus. The first thing to know is that everyone will be moving to a brand new, state of the art, campus in just a couple of weeks. The new campus is in the very final stages of construction. I might even get a chance to “move in” to the new campus with the rest of the academic team. Below is a photo of a model of the new campus:
For now, the campus is a series of villas in a residential neighborhood of Abu Dhabi:
For example, my office is in Villa 14:
And here is my office 🙂
