Ocmulgee Audubon Society Logo Competition

The Ocmulgee Audubon Society (OAS) announces a competition to design a new logo. The competition is open to all Georgia bird lovers. We encourage you to submit a digital design featuring a Belted Kingfisher.  The winning design will feature prominently in our online presence, publications, and merchandise. All submissions will be displayed at our February 2023 meeting where the most popular three logos will be decided by our members. The overall winner will be decided by our OAS Board of Directors and announced in March 2023. The winner will receive a $200 cash prize.  The competition rules are:

  1. The logo must be easy to use, handle, resize, and manipulate for all reproduction purposes. It should be visually appealing on both small (as small as 1-inch) and large scales. The digital design must be four color (CMYK), though the logo may also be produced in black and white.

  2. The logo must include "Ocmulgee Audubon Society" somewhere on the logo.

  3. The logo should depict a Belted Kingfisher and/or a river (i.e. a representation of the Ocmulgee River).

  4. Together with logo proposal, each contestant must send a short description of the logo and the idea behind it.

  5. For sharing purposes, each contestant must include, together with the EPS or Al vector format, one the following three formats: PDF, JPG and PNG (with transparent background).

  6. All submitted work must be the original work of the entrant(s) and must not include, be based on, or derived from any pre-existing or third-party designs, trademarks, or copyrighted images.

  7. All entries will become the property of the Ocmulgee Audubon Society. By submitting an entry, each entrant agrees that any and all intellectual property rights in the logo design are deemed assigned to the Ocmulgee Audubon Society.

  8. Submission deadline is January 31, 2023.

  9. Individuals [or teams] may submit no more than two entries.
